About the Role

We are recruiting a Senior FPGA Architect, reporting to the Head of the Hardware Department, you will be responsible for the design and optimisation of complex, high-performance FPGA architectures. Your role will also involve supervising the design teams and taking an active part in the continuous improvement of development processes and tools within the R&D department.

The main tasks are the following

Design of FPGA architectures

  • Design highly optimised FPGA architectures, taking into account performance, power consumption and cost constraints.
  • Participate in defining technical specifications in collaboration with design teams and project managers
  • Design and develop key functional blocks, IPs and complete systems using hardware description languages such as VHDL and Verilog.

Supervision and coaching

  • Supervise and lead FPGA design teams
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to team members and guide them in solving complex problems
  • Ensure effective coordination between the different teams and disciplines involved in design projects

Continuous improvement

  • Actively participate in the improvement of FPGA design processes, identifying areas for optimisation and proposing innovative solutions
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to develop and integrate automated design tools and efficient workflows

Technical expertise

  • Provide high-level technical support to solve complex design and implementation problems
  • Monitor technological trends and advances in the FPGA field, and integrate them into ongoing projects

Collaboration and communication

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including the validation team, embedded software teams and project managers
  • Effectively communicate progress, challenges and solutions to internal and external stakeholders

About you

You have an engineering degree (Bac+5) or university equivalent and at least 5 years' experience.

You have the ability to keep up to date with the latest trends and technological advances in the field. You are also willing, autonomous and passionate about technology.

The skills required for the position are

  • Fluency in written and spoken English,
  • Strong hardware programming skills in VHDL and/or Verilog
  • Demonstrated experience in designing highly optimised architectures in terms of performance, energy consumption and cost.
  • Experience in supervising design teams and managing complex projects
  • Excellent problem-solving and technical communication skills
  • Knowledge of FPGA design methodologies and associated design and verification tools
