VITEC forms new strategic partnership with Zest Technologies

PARIS, May 17, 2021 — VITEC, a worldwide leader in advanced video encoding and streaming solutions, has today announced a strategic partnership with Zest Technologies, which will see the two companies work together to offer complete end-to-end workflow solutions for the broadcast market. VITEC has a growing product portfolio in the sector and with Zest’s value-added services and distribution reach, the collaboration between the two companies offers a compelling proposition for broadcast customers across Europe. Zest Technologies was founded by its Managing Director Lorna Garrett, who has more than 16 years of experience in the video technology market, predominantly in the broadcast, sport, event and media sectors in addition to Lorna working with VITEC in previous roles.

“Our broadcast product range has been evolving in our desire to work with a market leader who can add value end to end, and not be simply a reseller, Zest Technologies is a great fit.” says Mark Rushton, Business Development Director at VITEC. “Lorna has a wealth of relevant experience, and we have many shared values. She has the knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise to provide us with the best solutions and to help VITEC gain further traction in the sectors. Our combined strengths allow us to jointly tailor solutions and workflows, not just push products, that offer best value for existing and prospective clients.” “Broadcast applications are a demanding environment,” adds Lorna. Products have to be fit for purpose, both for the circumstances in which they will be used and in the results they will deliver. VITEC fits the bill on both counts, and I’m delighted to include them in Zest’s portfolio of solutions. I understand the demands for first-class products in the sector, having helped to solve video contribution needs for some of the largest companies in the market, and we at Zest know that by working with the VITEC team we can provide the optimal video technology solutions for our customers.”

Zest Technologies grew out of Garland Partners Limited, which was co-founded in 2004 by Lorna Garrett and Malcolm Harland. Garland expanded rapidly as its reputation for providing the best digital video solutions and service grew amongst many of the UK’s largest organisations. After 16 years, Garland’s success led to its acquisition, in February 2021, by LiveU. Zest Technologies was formed to continue to provide professional video contribution solutions and service offerings from Garland’s other world-class partners. VITEC manufactures solutions for broadcast, enterprise, government, military, sports and entertainment venues, specifically tailored to each customer’s unique workflow. At the core of every VITEC solution is a commitment to offer products with the lowest latency and most robust IPTV capability on the market.
