Colin Farquhar, SVP of Sales, VITEC, reflects on ISE 2026 with VITEC and Datapath

Colin Farquhar, senior vice president of sales at VITEC

Looking back on ISE 2026 at the Fira de Barcelona, it truly felt like a milestone moment for us. It was the first time VITEC and Datapath joined forces at the show since the acquisition, and from where I was standing, it represented far more than just a shared presence on the show floor.

It was a clear statement of intent.

As a result, many businesses are now actively seeking innovative technologies to adopt more sustainable practices, from energy consumption to waste management, and ensure their operations minimise environmental impact while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

As someone who oversees sales and marketing in both companies, this was the first opportunity to see the two groups working together in a live environment. Bringing these teams together has been a work in progress—and it will continue to be as we further integrate—but seeing the collaboration unfold so naturally was incredibly encouraging. Engineers and sales professionals from both businesses supported visitors side by side, reflecting not only our shared focus on engineering excellence but also a growing cultural alignment. The sense of unity across both stands was tangible.

For me personally, ISE 2026 was about more than technology launches and awards. It was about seeing two teams, two brands and two cultures coming together with a shared purpose.

The week ended on a high note with Datapath’s Aetria receiving a Best of Show award. That recognition was a proud moment for everyone involved and a fitting acknowledgement of the work that’s gone into developing a solution that genuinely addresses the needs of modern control rooms. We were also delighted to be shortlisted for two Inavation Awards and a Digital Signage Award, further reinforcing the strength and innovation of our shared product range.

ISE gave us the perfect platform to demonstrate the power our combined portfolio —bringing together VITEC’s IPTV distribution and digital signage expertise with Datapath’s video wall management and control room solutions. The result is a seamless, end-to-end video workflow capable of serving broadcast, corporate, sports, military and other mission-critical environments.

ISE 2026: A Milestone for VITEC and Datapath

At the show we unveiled our new X-View integrated displays, embedding our proven Avedia Platform technology directly into commercial screens. Available in 11.6-inch and 21.5-inch models, X-View offers a simple, scalable solution for meeting room signage, welcome displays, and corporate communications, with seamless Office 365 integration and easy PoE deployment.

Our replica control room was a real highlight, letting visitors test the new hardware-based Aligo Workstation and software-based Aetria workstations side by side. The overwhelmingly positive feedback confirmed that our solutions are meeting real-world control room challenges. For our engineering teams, that validation from the market is incredibly important.

For me personally, ISE 2026 was about more than technology launches and awards. It was about seeing two teams, two brands and two cultures coming together with a shared purpose. The progress we’ve made is clear, and while there’s more work ahead, the signs are extremely positive. The energy from the show has given us real momentum as we continue building a truly unified team for the year ahead.
