VITEC is an equal opportunity employer and the only thing that matters to us is your ability to fulfil that role.
VITEC is designing an ASIC/SOC for audio and video compression and streaming applications. This chip, G60, is intended to cover all of VITEC's needs and will be used as the technological basis for the development of all our future products.
Together with an application FPGA, the G60/FPGA pair will be able to offer a wide range of solutions: IPTV distribution, digital signage, video streaming, situational awareness, remote production, etc.
Working in the VHDL development unit of the HARDWARE department, the trainee will be involved in the design and development of the FPGA companion to the G60 ASIC/SOC.
This will involve successively
- Understanding how the G60 SOC works.
- Understanding how the G60/FPGA pair works in different contexts of use.
- Identify the functional requirements of the companion FPGA.
- Study and translate these requirements into technical solutions.
- Specify, design and verify the VHDL blocks associated with these solutions.
- Specify the control APIs for these blocks.
- Prototype the proposed solutions on an FPGA platform.
- Evaluate the proposed solutions in terms of cost, performance, power consumption, SWAP/, etc.
Knowledge of VHDL coding is essential.
