About the Role

We are recruiting for a R&D Validation Engineer, reporting to the Validation Team Leader, you will join project teams organised in Scrum within the validation department to take charge of activities related to the testing of our IPTV products: encoders, decoders, servers, routers, recorders, etc.

These teams work closely with product marketing to specify, design and validate these products, which are either stand-alone electronic boxes or software packages running in virtualised mode on servers.

Main duties include:

• Collaborate with the team throughout the design and development process to take ownership of the functionality of each new feature ;
• Participate in the design of the tests using the testing techniques (unit tests, functional tests, performance tests, security tests, etc.) and validate the relevance of the test automation ;
• Develop and implement test tools ;
• Create test applications to test the APIs ;
• Ensure end-to-end testing: Development of test automata, execution of tests, advanced analysis of anomalies to provide the team with a maximum of elements for their resolution ;
• Follow up on identified bugs ;
• Document the tests in a clear and complete manner.

About You

A graduate of an engineering school or equivalent, you have at least one year of experience in validation of HW/SW systems.

The skills required for this position are:

• Implementation of test strategy ;
• Python and C# coding ;
• Scripting language (shell, Python, Perl, etc.);
• Practice of development according to the Scrum method ;
• Automation tools (e.g. Jenkins).

Knowledge on the following topics would be a plus:

• Digital video and audio coding standards, streaming ;
• IP network protocols (UDP, RTP, RTMP, IGMP, etc.).

You are autonomous, rigorous, pragmatic, you appreciate teamwork, and you are eager to share your experiences. You are used to working in project mode, you have good interpersonal skills and you are able to adapt to your contacts and to the various constraints imposed on you. You like activities related to the realization of tests and the implementation of test benches.

Given the international environment of our company, the knowledge of technical English read, spoken and written is essential for this position.
