Embedded Electronic Technician
About the Role
We are recruiting for an Embedded Electronics Technician within the VITEC Hardware Department. You will join the Hardware department and will report directly to the Hardware Manager of the embedded systems. You will work in tandem with the design engineers to design, verify and industrialise our electronic systems.
The main tasks are the following:
- Feasibility studies,
- Justification of design choices,
- Drafting of technical specifications with regard to customer requirements,
- Selection of electronic components,
- Input of electrical diagrams,
- Monitoring of subcontractors: CAD, PCB manufacturing, cable makers,
- Tests, verification and validation of electronics,
- EMC tests and MTBF calculation,
- VHDL programming of FPGA components,
- Support to software teams for integration,
- Support to mechanical integration teams (participation in mechanical design),
- Support to the industrialization teams (participation in the elaboration of test benches),
- Troubleshooting and debugging.
About you
You have a higher technical education at Bac +5 level and you have at least 5 years experience in the development of complex electronic systems. Experience or knowledge in the field of video would be a plus.
The skills required for the position are :
- Mastery of schematic entry,
- Mastery of the constraints linked to the CAD of printed circuits,
- Mastery of the constraints related to the manufacture of printed circuits,
- Simple SMD/DIP soldering skills,
- Familiar with DFM and DFT processes,
- Familiar with mechanical integration and thermal aspects,
- Familiar with EMC constraints,
- Familiar with VHDL and C/C++ programming languages.
Knowledge in the following areas would be a plus:
- Programmable components CPU, DSP, SOC, Microcontrollers ...
- Interfaces HDMI, SDI, PCI, PCI express, DDR2-3-4, USB, Fibre, Ethernet, SATA ...
- Low power electronics: isolated power supplies, buck, DC/DC ...
