About the role :

We are recruiting an R&D Validation Engineer. Reporting to the Validation Team Leader, you will join project teams organised in Scrum mode within the validation department to take charge of activities linked to the testing of our IPTV products: encoders, decoders, servers, routers, recorders, etc. These teams work in close cooperation with product marketing to specify, design and validate these products, which come either in the form of stand-alone electronic boxes or as software packages running in virtualised mode on virtualised servers.

What you’ll do :

• Working with the team throughout the design and development process to ensure that the functionality of each new feature is fully understood;
• Participate in drawing up the validation plan;
• Design tests using testing techniques (unit tests, functional tests, performance tests, security tests, etc.) and validate the relevance of test automation;
• Develop and implement test tools;
• Create the test applications used to test the APIs;
• Ensure end-to-end testing: development of test automata, execution of tests, advanced analysis of anomalies to provide the team with as much information as possible to resolve them;
• Follow up identified bugs;
• Documenting tests clearly and completely;
• Participating in project reviews.

About You :

With a degree from an engineering school or equivalent, you will have at least five year's experience in validating HW/SW systems.

The skills required for this position are :

• Mastery of validation and verification processes;
• Writing test plans, tests and test reports;
• Experience of development using the Scrum method;
• Organisational skills and autonomy
• Ability to analyse and summarise;
• Scripting languages (shell, Python, Perl, etc.);

Knowledge of the following subjects would be a plus:

• Use of project management tools (JIRA) and test management tools (Zephyr scale)
• Digital video and audio coding standards, streaming;
• IP network protocols (UDP, RTP, RTMP, IGMP, etc.).

You are autonomous, rigorous, pragmatic, enjoy working in a team and are keen to share your experience. Accustomed to working in project mode, you have good interpersonal skills and are able to adapt to the people you work with and to the various constraints you face. You enjoy activities linked to carrying out tests and setting up test benches.

Given the international environment of our company, the knowledge of technical English read, spoken and written is essential for this position.
