Product and Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role:
As a member of VITEC’s Operations Team, the Product & Supplier quality engineer is responsible for ensuring VITEC’s comprehensive range of IPTV, video streaming, and Digital Signage solutions meet our standards.
This role will apply a technical understanding of VITEC’s product range to ensure good working order of all equipment making its way through our logistical center in Atlanta. As such, you will be supporting all departments within the organization.
Collaboration is key, that's why it’s an office-based role. You'll be trusted to work on your own initiative most of the time in our on-site warehouse distribution center.
What you’ll do:
Customer product returns (RMA):
- Responsible for the diagnosis and disposition of field return failures. Ensure all returns are timely processed and diagnostic information is captured for analysis.
- Liaise with Support team and Quality counterparts in VITEC France for analysis. Identify recurring or critical issues. Provide relevant information to our development teams, industrial partners, and suppliers to address quality concerns.
- Maintain quality indicators used to evaluate VITEC's performance (periodic team reviews).
Production and supplier quality:
- In cooperation with the Downstream Supply Chain team, address equipment failures and review product configuration yields and efficiencies. This includes, in cooperation with the other Quality team members across the group, addressing quality concerns with our development teams, industrial partners and suppliers.
- In conjunction with the Downstream Supply Chain, responsible for turning around loaner units and ensuring all returns are promptly processed and tracked and returned to demo pool.
- Support the Production Configuration Technicians as needed and liaise with the Upstream Supply Chain to ensure reliable product quality.
- Follow key OEM partners and customers.
Quality Management System and Improvement:
- Manage and take part in corporate quality system.
- Manage calibration (as needed) and ESD control activities.
- Ensure locally that quality system elements (procedures, documentation) related to Operations are maintained and effectively implemented.
- Ensure internal corrective actions are effectively resolved (periodic reviews).
- Support to change definition and implementation (ECR, ECN).
- In coordination with the relevant teams, take part in improvement initiatives and internal/external audits.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Diligent and thorough in approach, with ability to investigate issues i.e. look behind the data and drill down to root cause analysing all options. This will include:
- Ability to review trends in faults and report these back
- An understanding of reading electronic schematics and mechanical drawings. A strong data driven approach and high attention to detail.
- A completer finisher with ability to work to timeframes.
- Happy working with colleagues globally to share knowledge of issues found and implementing solutions locally as required.
- Able to spot potential areas for improvement. Desirable but not essential - experience working with quality tools/methodologies (8D, ISO 9001).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
About You:
- Computer Science, Electronics Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven experience operating, installing, debugging, and supporting computer hardware, network devices.
